A week or so ago I was at the shop and I saw a new magazine had come in – Knit.Wear. There are some really cute patterns in this magazine and one that immediately caught me eye was a great pullover by Wendy Bernard.
It’s the Basket Yoke Pullover. I love how it’s simple, but not boring. I also love that it’s a top-down raglan, knit in the round, and that it basically has just knits and purls (except as needed for the increases and decreases).
In an unprecedented fit of spontaneous decision-making, I purchased the needed yarn and needles, and cast on for this project over the weekend in Cambria!
I am now at the point where I need to check to see if I am ready to separate off the sleeves or if I need to do some more. I didn’t want to get too far before checking, but I haven’t found the time to take this off the needles yet.
But check out the seed stitch neck and the cool Andalusian pattern of the yoke. I’m so excited!
I also realized that I’ve mentioned to you that I’ve been really busy and that we are working on a top secret project at Bobbin’s Nest, the shop where I work. Well, we announced our plans recently, so it’s safe to tell you as well.
We are starting an online store. And I have been doing a ton of work on the back end. We have an intern that is taking photos, but I do all the photo fixing and uploading, and I do a ton of the back end stuff to set up the individual products and just a bunch of other little tweaking and things.
It has been a ton of work and our target date to launch is November 1, so we’re about to enter our testing phase! I’m pleased with how it’s going and I’m excited to see how it is received!

What yarn did you use? It looks LOVELY! You know how I love green.
that magazine is dangerous- I’ve been avoiding picking it up myself because I worry it will derail my current WIPs. Your sweater already looks lovely.
Lovely sweater! I love how feminine and flattering the shape is. Great color choice for your yarn.
How exciting that Bobbin’s Nest is starting an online store. That will certainly keep you guys even busier.
