I finally finished this dress!!
The print is a linen fabric I got in Hanoi last January. I didn’t have quite enough of it for the whole dress, so I picked up some solid brown for the midriff piece, which is cut on the bias so takes up a ton of space when laying out the pattern.
Thanks again to my friend Dolin for helping me with the fit on this!
So as not to rub in our beautiful California weather too much, I’ll say that, yes, these photos were taken outside yesterday morning, but it’s definitely still too cold to be wearing this dress for longer than a photo shoot!
Kind of sad to finish a project and not be able to wear it for a while yet!
Massive homework assignment this week, but I’ll be back by Friday with a few questions for you on quilt patterns. See you then!

This dress is beautiful, Amy! I love that cut and design on you – so flattering. Great use of those two fabrics too. I would love to try making clothes again this year, so this project is very inspiring and encouraging to me. Thank you for sharing pictures of what nice weather is like! Good luck with your homework.
Beautiful. Better with the solid brown than it would have been without. Love it.
I need help laying the pattern on the fabric! If you could help, that would be awesome!
