Today for our shop-hop we’ll be checking out Natural Expression in Los Gatos, CA.
**Please note that I didn’t do a thorough inventory of each of these stores, so if I say I didn’t see something, it doesn’t mean they definitely didn’t have it, I just didn’t see it.
Web site: Natural Expressions.
Location: 18 N. Santa Cruz Ave., Los Gatos, CA, right on the main downtown shopping drag.
Finally, a store that is really obvious from the street! Note that while the building is two stories, the shop is only on the first floor.

Basic Fabrics: This shop has a fairly significant color wall and a nice collection of cute kids prints. They also carry some Asian prints (not tons), a few batiks, some of the Kona solids (not all 300-ish, but a decent selection), and some holiday fabrics.
This is the color wall. This store felt a little more like an art gallery, especially because it was so spacious. Is it just me, or do quilt shops usually have stuff stacked pretty much everywhere?

And here are some kids fabrics, including Two Young Street (if not in this shot, they definitely had some on another shelf).

Designer Fabrics: This is definitely their strong point. I asked a woman working there if they were going to get the new Hope Valley from Denyse Schmidt. She didn’t know who Denyse Schmidt was, but when I showed her the DS fabric they have and she saw it was from Free Spirit, she said they would get it because they “see everything from Free Spirit.”
Joel Dewberry and Valori Wells.

Brand new Nicey Jane from Heather Bailey.

Amy Butler and Anna Maria Horner, etc.

Some flannels, and designer home dec weights.

LOTS of Denyse Schmidt, as well as Amy Butler.

Kaffe Fassett shot cottons.

More Amy Butler. And that might be some Kaffe Fassett on the top shelf.

I also have written down that I saw Tina Givens and Jay McCarroll.
Other Types of Fabrics: Flannels, some of which are shown above, and also these designer flannels, including Amy Butler’s Love.

Laminated cottons, including some from Amy Butler and Kaffe Fassett.

They also carried Marcus organic cotton canvas that I was very tempted to buy for a pair of pants!
Sales Section: Decent sales section, including some Aunt Grace Ties One On down there on the bottom shelf.

Classroom: The classroom space would hold 6 or 8, it looks like. It’s not a separate room, but a space marked off by half walls on one side of the shop.

Batting and Notions: This is the notions wall. Batting was on rolls under a cutting table. No batting in packages.

Machines: This shop does not sell machines.
Other Items: In addition to being a fabric/quilting shop, half of this store is devoted to beads and beading supplies.

Oh my goodness, thank you for doing this. My friends kept telling me that I should head over to Natural Expressions but they said that it was a bead store and had a little fabric. No one told me that they tended to carry a lot of the modern designer stuff. Excellent! I tended to just shop at Eddie’s and the Granary but I’ll go and try this one out too.
I definitely want to visit this shop! Thank you for sharing.
