A Little Print Design

I realized that I haven’t really posted much about my classes this quarter. They have been pretty good and are now over, but they didn’t yield much that would be fun to post about here. I did have a few things from the Adobe InDesign class that I thought you might find interesting, so here they are, all in one post.

This assignment was to redesign an actual advertisement. I chose to make an ad for Mike’s Bike Tours Amsterdam.

This assignment was to make a calendar page using a table (so the subway tiles are actually the grid of a table in this case).

And this assignment was to format either song lyrics or a poem of your choosing.

These were relatively fun and creative assignments. I’m looking forward to some opportunities to put my new knowledge to practical use!

  • I like how you did the song lyrics. I’ve only used Adobe InDesign a little bit to do some magazine layout. Where are you taking your classes? I’d love to learn more about using it and some web design.

  • These are really fun designs! I love the idea to format song lyrics or poems. I could spending hours on that one. I can’t wait to see what you do with all your newly-discovered talents – I’m sure it will be great!

  • Cute stuff! That graffiti calendar is a lot of fun.

You should look into local churches or non-profit groups. I’m sure that a lot of them would be interested in having you design promotional pieces and it would be a great way for you to get more experience for your portfolio.

  • I’m catching up on your blog posts – sorry about all the back logged comments.

One of my friends is in design school right now and I love seeing her projects and hearing about her assignments. They all seem so creative and fun. These are all great. The turkey and vote word are fun additions to your subway graffiti calendar. Thanks for sharing.
