Thanks so much for the offers to swap with me for TOASTY fingerless gloves! Terri was the first person to offer her services to my cold hands, and I’ll be sewing up something for her. I’ll be sure to share what she sends me and what I send her!
Last week I finally managed to whip up a couple of pillow shams to go in the guest room with the Love Beads quilt and curtains.

I’m so happy to finally have put this fabric to a good use! These were super simple. I was even too lazy to do the simple math, so I used the guidelines here. Worked out perfectly.

I even went through my stash of vintage piping/seam binding/ric-rac, etc. and found two packages (just enough!) of the perfect shade of blue to add. Get out!

My friend Rachel is arriving tomorrow for a couple days here in the South Bay. I hope we can entertain her as well as her North Bay friends have been (and her East Bay friends after us!). A sewing machine problem from a couple of months ago is back, so I dropped my machine off at the shop spa for a visit while she’s here since I don’t plan to be sewing. At least they know what it is this time — it took them a while last time to figure it out. Hopefully I’ll have it back by the end of the week, ready to sew some more!

The shams go perfectly with the quilt and curtains! Love the ric-rac you put on there.
Those shams are fabulous. I really love that perfect shade of blue rick-rack you added! Just makes the pillows pop. Have fun with your friend Rachel!
These look great with your quilt! I like the special touch of the blue ric rac too.
And, your floating flickr button is really cool. Where did you find that?
Everyone agrees — that pillow fabric is just perfect with the quilt and the blue ric-rac is such a nice touch. I’m sure your friend will be so happy to sleep in such a pretty room.
I love the fabric that you used for the shams! And they’re all right, the ric rac is perfect!
Enjoy your time with Rachel, how fun!
