It is finally feeling like fall here in the Bay Area. Well, in the mornings anyhow. I was so eager to not be sitting around my apartment sweating, that I forgot that the onset of cooler weather is not all good. Specifically, when it is cool out my hands get just ICY while I am sitting at the computer. And since I’m doing a lot of computer-based homework these days, my hands will spend a lot of time cold. And since I have a chronic condition that makes me kinda cranky when my hands are cold (rheumatoid arthritis), I have really been craving a pair of these awesome knitted Toasty fingerless gloves (with a nice little thumb warmer!), so that I can be warm and still type at the same time!
Problem is, knitting and me just never really hit it off.
So, here’s the deal. I think for anyone who knows how to knit, these would be a snap. Erin claims to have required a mere 4 hours to knit a pair. I’d love to do a swap with someone. You knit up a pair of these for me in something soft and not itchy, and I’ll do something for you. I’m even up for suggestions on what that might be.
Any takers??
In the meantime, I’ll be warming my hands under the hot water faucet and making myself another cup of tea to drink/warm my hands on.
And because every post MUST have a photo, here’s a rare shot for you of me with my newest favorite person, Graham. I think this photo is hilarious, the way we are eyeing each other. Actually, I think he’d just had a big spasm that freaked me out and turned out to be preparations for a couple of big sneezes. Too much excitement for me!

Oh my gosh! He is TOO cute. Ok, not really TOO cute (I don’t think such a thing could exist) I also love the look you two are giving each other.
I wish I knew how to knit! I can barely crochet. Sending good, warm thoughts to your poor hands and joints!
I would make those for you! I have been itching for a knitting project lately. Must be the cooler weather that has settled into the Midwest. Love the picture of you holding Graham – cute!
I’d absolutely offer to knit them for you but I can’t right now
I haven’t even been able to knit for myself! Boo…
That picture of you and Graham is adorable! Hehe
i’d totally do that for you. let me know.
Great photo. Those would be a cinch to knit (okay for me), but better with some cables to jazz them up a bit.
These would be nice, http://petrastrickt.myblog.de/petrastrickt/page/166936 or these http://thegivingflower.de/?page_id=78 but I think these might be the best of the bunch http://www.sutherland-studios.com.au/free/nereidgloves.html
He is gorgeous! You lucky girl! Sorry to hear about the cold hands, and sorry I can’t help there! But I see you did get a couple of volunteers. Let us know how it turns out!
