In keeping with the precedent set recently by Jessica over at juicy bits, here’s a photo of the two books that arrived in the mail today, and one other goodie that I picked up at the local community college bookstore:

Yup. I signed up for the online computer software course at the local community college on how to use Adobe Illustrator. Totally for fun. Not even for work! But since the educational discounts are SO massive, and my husband has signed up to take the Adobe Flash online course, I bought the Design Premium package instead of just the two individual pieces of software. I’m really excited! Of course, class starts next Monday when I’ll be in Chicago on a business trip (Corporate Climate Change conference, anyone?), so guess what I’ll probably be doing on the plane?
On a side note, community colleges are WICKED cheap out here in California. I’m talking $46.50 to register and pay all your fees per semester and then — get this — $12 per credit hour. Is that crazy or what? I’m going to try not to think about how this will be my first course for a grade since my dissertation defense, um, *several* years ago now…..:P

Fun! I can’t believe how cheap your community college courses are! Are you planning on designing some fabric for spoonflower?
Why didn’t I think of this? Now, as I’m about to buy a new Mac I’m wondering if it really takes only one class to be able to get the discount. Hmmm…
