Ramblings from the Zone

How have your weekends been going? I have been pretty much absorbed in my next sewing project. My sister made a very specific request for something for Christmas that she saw a photo of at my Flickr account. The last one took me ages to make, so I figured there’s no time like the present. I’ve spent most of the weekend working on that and to my shock and amazement, I have actually made significant progress. The kind of progress where I think if I could just have one more day to work on this I could have most of it done. I can hardly get over it, let me tell you. But I was so in the zone working on this that I didn’t manage to take any pictures, and once the sun goes down the photography is pretty much pointless. What in the heck will I do in the winter????? But hopefully I will have photos of the completed project for you before too long, which will be awesome.

And I have finished the binding on my last big quilting project and I’ll hopefully get some photos of that up for you soon (just not enough time today with all the being-in-the-zone and all). Though I nearly forgot that I still need to make a label for that one.

So, the banana bread turned out great. I know you all were dying to know. Despite the fact that when I was putting away the dishes from this bit of baking fun I thought, “That’s funny. Where’s the 1-cup measuring cup? And why was the 3/4-cup measuring cup in the dishwasher?” It seems I picked up the wrong one and ended up 1/4 cup shy on my flour. But I didn’t even notice (I’d already eaten some by this point and didn’t have a clue). Here it is, all moist and luscious next to my nonfat vanilla yogurt. Mmmmmm…..
Mmmmm...banana bread!

Have a good week everyone!
