Well, it’s leisurely now, but soon my weekend project will be in full swing. I’m attempting to make significant progress on the quilt I need to put together. I refuse to define exactly what that means so that I can feel good at the end of the weekend at what I have accomplished, no matter how little that might turn out to be. I have to make a conscious effort at this, because I have tendency set goals that are way too ambitious for the amount of time I have, and then to be very disappointed later at how little of it I got done!
Last weekend I discovered a new quilting shop near me. I have no clue how this place escaped my notice for so long, but I know about it now! Between that and my usual shop, which was having a sale, I acquired a few new things.

The two on top are Robert Kaufman “Iota” prints, and the two on the bottom are Windham Fabrics “Mambo”. I swear my husband MADE me buy these! (I know you don’t believe me but he did! You are probably aghast that he went to the quilting stores with me willingly, but he did that too!! Have I mentioned before that he totally rocks? He even carries around piles of fabric bolts for me while I browse! Without complaining!)

This is an awesome Alexander Henry print that will be a Christmas gift for my mother.

To be honest, I have no idea what the two on the left are. They were fat quarters I picked up at the new shop. The one in the center is Anna Maria Horner’s “Drawing Room” and the one on the right is Amy Butler’s “August Fields”. Those two are destined to be a Christmas gift for my sister.
You are probably thinking it is really good of me to be starting so early on Christmas gifts, but I assure you that between the project I am working on this weekend and these two (which are NOT small projects) I will be lucky to get it all done. Add in there the travel I have between now and then and it will be sheer luck if it gets finished. That day job has GOT TO GO!!!

Those are all so lovely and I can’t wait to see what you do with them.
I am so jealous that your husband will go fabric shopping with you. Mine tolerates it sometimes, but not often. Yesterday I needed to stop in a fabric store with him. i told him it would take me about 1/2 hour. We were out of there in 28 minutes and yet all he did was complain. Ugh.
such pretty fabric selections! I can’t wait to see what you come up with
I’m curious as to what quilting fabric shop that was and what your other favorite shop is.
