Take 2

Attempt #2 at the boule from Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day. This time I did the tic-tac-toe design on the top instead of the shell pattern.

Take 2

I managed to leave it in the entire time and waited for it to *almost* be completely cooled. I wanted some with my salad and I was starving! This is definitely a keeper. I have ordered the book from my local bookstore. They are of course sold out.

So, I still have about two pounds of this dough in the fridge. Next time I think I’ll try either the crusty white sandwich bread or the sticky rolls (but no pecans, blech!). Probably the sticky rolls.

  • Your bread looks great!

I have my first batch of the basic dough in the fridge now. Haven’t made a loaf yet, but used a chunk of it for pizza tonight.

It was super. I don’t have a pizza stone, so the bottom didn’t crisp, but the crust did. Plus, even though I flattened the dough for the pizza, I still had air pockets. Too cool.

Just sent info on the basic dough to my niece. She’s excited.

    This is truly wonderful stuff.

OK, this looks fabulous. I’m going to have to bug you for the recipe, that’s all there is to it. Where have you been this week, btw…I’ve missed you!
